Kuro

He came from nowhere, nothing was known about him, saved for that he always came for the badasses, always in defense of the little ones, the decent ones. He came and cleaned up the town, made the neighborhood a bit of a better place. And before anyone learned anything about him, let along gotten the chance to thank him, he had always disappeared mysteriously.

There were whispers about him of course, that he had betrayed his master in the wiliest of ways and thus was condemned to wander, to use his sword to redeem his crime. There were also those who whispered that he was several hundred years old. There were old men who remembered seeing him as small boys, or at least had heard stories about him as small boys. But that was little more than tales.

However, he was known as Kuro, the black one, for his outfit, and his sword had killed fast and accurate, having swept off more bad guys than anyone else known of.
