Only the title is inspired by David Bowie's lyrics, because this came to my mind when hearing that song.
But his lyrics isn't really about Mars and this work is inspired by those vintage SF magazines from the 50ies with heroes and heroines and fantastic animals on the red planet. Before we found out that there's nothing more there than probable bacterias when it comes to life. But I loved that vision of Mars upon reading those mags - old even when I grew up, they used to be my dad's. So I made this artwork as a tribute to them. And don't complain about the moons, I know Mars' Phobos and Deimos are nothing but boulders, but in those stories of old they were orbs just like our Moon. Tools: Terragen, DAZ, Photoshop.
