Where are we going? asked Chiralys, as she was clutching madly to Davion's slippery coverall, fearing he would drop her.

Safe? Chiralys wondered if there ever was a place which could even remotely be termed 'safe' for someone like her, who had broken every rule with her podcast, and was now wanted by the political police for subversive activities, and she knew that if they got her, she was not going to see daylight again. Not even this rainy New Gotham. The only thing she could hope for was this Davion being honest and really on her side. After all he was an amphibian, and his kind had never been liked by the president and her police. So perhaps to him Chiralys might not be a friend, but at least the enemy's enemy.

Davion kept running, and Chiralys closed her eyes against the tears. After all she had known what she was doing when she uploaded that podcast last week. But someone had to do it.
