The Riddle

General Caius Silvanus waited impatently as the two strange women whispered between themselves. The gray one who was apparently the seer and the exotic clad one who was her interpretator and apparently a good friend as well, taking in mind how they held on to each other. Then the interpretator turned and faced Caius again.

Well? he asked impatiently. Will I have victory or not against the Germanians?
Victory you will have, the interpretator replied. But don't celebrate too hard. There is an enemy lurking from behind. From within your own ranks. Beware of the man with one blue and one brown eye....

As Caius heard that, he felt a strange shiver of cold run down his spine in spite of the midday heat. He had no idea who this foe could be, he had never seen a man with one blue and one brown eye. Still he felt a peculiar trepidation upon hearing the sombre soprano of the interpretator. Now, this was a riddle, a riddle where his own life hung in the balance. And those riddles were never to take lightly...
