When the shit hits the…

Well it wasn't exactly time the other day, but you can hardly get closer. The contruction workers working on our house were going to empty one portable toilet they had been using (bajamaja for Swedes) when someone goofed up totally and all the and became emptied out in the street! I guess you can imagine the horror! The smell!!

My neighbour called me and told about the disaster, and sitting at work far from the actual warzone I couldn't help She didn't think it was funny at all. And I understand her, when I got home that day the stench was horrid, and even the morning after you could still smell it. I'm glad I wasn't home the moment it happened at least. I can imagine passers-by getting their cars and bikes – and themselves stained!

Not the brightest moment in that constuction company's history I bet!!

The kittens glow in the dark!

Take a look at the kittens to the left: Pretty normal fluffy cuteness, right. Then take a look at the kittens to the right: Spooky! Like a creative manip someone did with Photoshop filter around here. But it's not a photo manip; it's the cats' genes that have been manipulated.



Scientists at the University of Gyeongsang in Seoul in South Korea have changed the DNA of a cat by planting in a fluorescent gene in it. And from that cat they have cloned a litter of kittens that glow in the dark with a pale red light. The reason is not to create cool and different pets for rich brats though, but to try out different DNA sequences in the order of being able to cure deceases in the future using advanced DNA manipulation.

Earlier there have been pigs glowing in the dark too. Pigs that have been given a gene from a jellyfish that made it fluorescent with a green colour.
