Royal EngagementSo they finally did it. Crown princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westlin, entrepreneur and gym owner who started out as Victoria's personal trainer. After seven years of "being together" there were fewer and fewer who actually believed that anything was ever going to happen in their relationship. And true, most people would have left several times after not being able to go through to the next step with the relationship. Or as a friend told me: After seven years with my lady we had not only engaged and married but also got 3 kids, a house, two cars, a dog, several holidays and some really earth shaking fights.
Sure, it felt a bit strange to read and hear about their engagement yesterday. Like something you have really stopped believing in actually happened. And I can tell most Swedes were going "finally"! Because all the rumours of engagements, break-ups, Victoria being pregnant et cetera have been around for so many years now. And now we're waiting for a summer wedding and a chance for us Stockholmers to party. A huge ceremony in the Globe Arena for some 40 000 spectators perhaps and televised live world wide
After all a royalty can't have a small intimate wedding because EVERYONE would want to come.
Nevertheless I'm wishing Victoria and Daniel all good luck in the furure and hope for their happiness. At least they know each other from in and out these days, and have probably both farted and fantasized together
Jacko is really broke nowAnother celeb - Michael Jackson is apparently really utterly and definitely broke these days. Neverland is sold for long and so are the rights to his music. And now it's the time for the gadgets to go. Truckloads of stage outfits and props are being auctioned out in LA this week. So if you want a pair of green gloves with Swarovski Crystal (a fancier word for glass sequins) you know where to go!
You can actually fav your own work!It seems to be some kind of wacked bug that makes it possible to click and draw your own work into your fav gallery. I noted it today when I was going through my favs to collect a feature. There was something unnervingly familiar which was not supposed to be there. My work
I think we're got her. I remember having some problem sorting them into the folder with the SF story and ending up in some gray area where I could push it in all strange directions before the browser froze and I had to start all over (happens all the time these days). So now I bet all the fav whores are going to try to copy the stunt. Only that the addition does not seems to be accumulating to the fav counter. Or perhaps it did earlier and the bug has been halfway corrected. I don't know. A very weird discovery nevertheless!
The mad art students strike againThe fuzz over the fake suicide had hardly died down when the next scandal hits the Stockholm University of Arts.
This time it's a student who shows off his graduation work in a private gallery. And this "exam job" is nothing other than a film clip of him bombing a subway carrier with black graffiti and smashing windows. Just like these clips you can see on youtube and various underground sites.
Only that these sites show anonymous raiders. This guy made no attempt to hide his identity. Instead he was bragging like a dork who has found his ass
And now he too has to face justice and a penalty and perhaps prison + being sued by SL – the Subway Company.
Makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with that place. It once was a noble institution. Perhaps someone threw something in the water
Pirate BayOn another note an interesting trial starts today in the Stockholm Court. It's the trial against the founders of the torrent site Pirate Bay (Piratbyrån). They are being accused of copyright breaches in a class action consisting of several organisations, everything from large international entertainment companies like Warner and Sony to small Swedish artists unions.
A lot have been blogged and shouted about this case, both from people defending the copyright which is said to have been broken and those believing in the old cliché "information wants to be free".
And now they are even selling tickets on the black market to audience seats in the court house. 60€ is the "bargain"
A simple Google shows a lot to read:
www.google.se/search?hl=sv&q= Pirate+Bay+trial&meta=&aq=f&oq=
(just delete the spaces and the link will work - the original went emoticon on me!)
My stand is clear – you shall not steal. Then I too can reason that the record companies are greedy who charge way too much for a song and that they were lazy bums who missed the download train, and when they finally got on they were not pleased with neither the seats nor the route.
